Sunset Reed. RSPB Ham Wall, Somerset.
Sunsetting light, reflecting the colours of autumn. Creating a symmetrical reflection.
Sunset-colored light pools along the reed stem, a molten gradient of tangerine bleeding into rose and then a thin band of violet. The water mirrors it with uncanny calm, each color doubled and softened. Where stem meets reflection, two lines converge into a precise, symmetrical triangle — a delicate architecture of nature, balanced and intentional. Tiny ripples feather the edges but cannot break the geometry: the apex touches the horizon where last light lingers; the base rests on the reflective skin of the pond. Close enough to see the stem’s fibrous texture, far enough to see the shape whole, the scene feels both intimate and formally composed, a quiet study in light, line, and stillness.
